We don’t run the lifts, the fire panel or the BMS. We make sure they stay connected.
Belgium is switching off the copper network, and the analog line your lift phone and fire panel dial out on goes with it. VoIP is not a replacement: those devices need the tones and the power the copper line carried, and in most cases it is not even permitted. We fit 4G gateways that keep the existing handset working, on battery through a power cut.
We connect the building systems that Equans, Veolia and other maintenance contractors run. Each one gets its own network, kept apart from the tenants, and the separate routers and switches every contractor used to bring along make way for one setup that we look after.
When a technician needs to reach a controller from outside, we open the way to that one device and nothing else. The cameras, intercoms and fire panels in the building are watched by the same monitoring as our own gear, so a fault reaches us before it reaches your inbox.
Battery storage and solar inverters have to report home, and they tend to sit in a basement or a car park far from any network. We give them their own 4G line, or a port on ours, kept apart from everything else in the building.
The simboxes at Covent Garden give every lift phone and fire panel its own mobile line, so the emergency call still gets out once the copper is gone. Next to them, a fire alarm transmitter on its own SIM, two battery installations we put on 4G, and one of our switches at work.
Ten to thirty people, and nobody whose actual job this is
Moving into a floor, or into a private room in a coworking space: we get the line in, the WiFi covering the space and every device onto it, so the office works from the first morning.
Accounts, mailboxes, shared files and Teams calling, set up properly and looked after, so it is not the office manager administering it between other jobs.
Secure remote access for whoever is working elsewhere that week, and desk phones that ring where they are supposed to.
We'll get back to you in a jiffy, once Yeri's done refreshing his inbox.
